K: Thousand (e.g., 40K = 40,000)
KCAS: Knots Calibrated Airspeed
KEAS: Knots Equivalent Airspeed
KIAS: Knots Indicated Airspeed
Kick the Tires and Light the Fires: Formerly, to bypass or severely shorten the required routine of physically inspecting the aircraft prior to flight. Currently meaning, "Let's get this aircraft preflighted and outta here pronto!" (See Rapid City Freestyle).
Kill: Directive to commit on target with clearance to fire in visual or beyond visual range; implies hostile and ROE compliance; in training, fighter call to indicate KILL ROE has been fulfilled.
Killbox: Also "Kill Container" - a working area similar to CAS Stack (a specified working area while performing a CAS mission).
Knock-It-Off: Terminate any intercept/ engagement in progress.
KT(S): Knot(s)
KTAS: Knots True Airspeed
KVA: Kilovolt Ampere
