Excessive chafing and arcing between an axillary hydraulic line and the power cable is what caused a fire that destroyed #130342 at NAS Key West in Florida in 2012. The crew escaped with just one minor injury and fire crews responded within three minutes, but the rear of the aircraft was so badly damaged that it was deemed too expensive to repair.

Flew into a mountain during exercise "Cold Response" in Sweden. All five on board were killed. Only ammassed 856:16 flight hours.

MAFFS mission crashed in southwest South Dakota fighting a fire. Four of the six crew killed. The two loadmasters at the back of the aircraft survived.

A Boeing 747-700 from Arik Airlines (reg. SNMJI) struck the wing of this C-130 while parked at Jos Airport. The wing and an external fuel tank were damaged. Infact a section of wing from the 737 was left in the wing of the C-130.
