A fire caused damage in an undercarriage wheel bay. Was repaired.

Crashed after three attempts to land in bad weather with high winds and low visibility at Lages AB, Azores. Aircraft had 68 passenger from the Venezuelan Central University where en route to participate in the Festival Internacional del Canto Coral in Spain. Including the five crew, all 73 died.

Crashed during an emergency landing at night with low fuel in fog at Eastville, near Kisangani, Zaire. Could not make the runway and came down into jungle canopy. Only one person survived.

Lost two engines after take off from Laayoune, Morocco. Also reported as shot down over Sahara by Polisario rebels.

Crashed on approach in bad weather at Shiraz, Iran.
