Jun 26, 2013 - The State of Israel’s accepted its first C-130J Super Hercules airlifter during a ceremony today at the Lockheed Martin production facility here. Air Force bids farewell to Combat Talon I
Two of the last five MC-130E Combat Talon Is sit on the Duke Field flightline adorned with American flags for the aircraft’s retirement ceremony April 25. Aircrew, maintainers and many others turned out to remember and bid farewell to the Talon I on its official retirement from the Air Force. Apr 29, 2013 - The Iraqi Air Force (IQAF) is set to receive its final three C-130J Super Hercules airlifters. Aircraft number 5721 was the first of these aircraft to be ferried from Lockheed Martin's production facility in Marietta, Ga., on April 23, 2013. All three C-130Js were ferried to U.S. Air Force bases prior to delivery to the IQAF. [Read more...]
Air Force Combat Talons fly for last time
MC-130E Combat Talon I #64-0565 rolls down the taxiway at Duke Field on April 15, 2013, for their final sorties before retirement. The last five Talons in the Air Force belong to the 919th SOW and are scheduled to be retired at a ceremony on April 25. Sep 19, 2012 - Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, and the U.S. Air Force are conducting flight tests for an enhancement for the T56 turboprop engine, which powers the C-130H transport aircraft. The Series 3.5 Engine Enhancement is designed to deliver fuel savings and reliability improvements, resulting in improved life cycle costs. [Read more...]
