Dedicated crew chiefs say farewell to Tail No. #1303
USAF AC-130W #88-1303 Stinger II gunship, takes off on the runway at Cannon AFB, for its final flight prior to retirement on October 19, 2020. As a gunship, Tail No. 1303 made its claim to fame by being the first gunship to record a combat kill on Feb. 9, 2011. It then went on to achieve another milestone by having the distinction of being the first 105mm cannon-installed whiskey to confirm a 105mm kill in December of 2016. [USAF photo by SSgt. 103rd Flies Five-ship C-130 Formation
Five C-130H Hercules aircraft assigned to the 103rd AW flew over Westover ARB, Massachusetts on October 4, 2020. The mission, known as a "Max Fly" challenges the unit to fly the maximum amount of aircraft in its fleet in a single mission, and is a comprehensive display of the unit’s readiness and tactical airlift capabilities. Sep 29, 2020 - A USMC KC-130J #166765 and F-35B from VMFA-121 collided during a refueling exercise around 16:00hrs local time over Southern California. The F-35 crashed near Naval Air Facility El Centro and the KC-130 made a forced landing in a farm field near the airport in Thermal. All the aircrew survived. [Read more...]

Sep 23, 2020 - On June 5, 2020, a 5th Special Operations Squadron crew flew an all-Reserve AC-130 mission for the first time in 25 years on an AC-130J Ghostrider. The last fully Reserve manned AC-130 mission was flown in 1995 on an AC-130A Spectre. [Read more...]

Dyess, Little Rock conduct largest formation flight in C-130J history
