I was a flight engineer for the 127th wing MI ANG first on the C-131D support plane in 1985 I was selected to be a flight engineer on the first C-130A that we took delivery of from the 143rd Quonset Point RI. in 1986 it still had the "roman nose" and was the last flying with it in the AF since it was unrestricted we were forced to trade it for 514 a couple of years later. we flew that for a couple of years before we got that hot rod b model 2645. the flight crew wore the 127 wing patch that says "we stand ready" and since we didn't have a squadron patch we wore the Mors Hostibus red devil patch. Maintenance was assigned to 127 CAMS Base Flight. 631 is still flying for air response 514 is in the Selfridge museum and 2645 went to Ecuador June 1992 flew for a while and is now in their Air Force museum. I retired in 2014 and still think that a support airlift was a real asset not only to our unit but we flew for a lot of other units that need airlift K Kelly
