Two USCG HC-130H airplanes from Coast Guard air station Kodiak wait on the tarmac at the local airport in Galena, Alaska on August 6. 1999. The closest C-130 is 1708 while the aircraft in the background is 1707. Galena became a hub of activity as four C-130s and more that 30 air crewmen flew on two different missions - search and rescue and law enforcement. Both took place in the Bering Sea.
