C-130J 01-1461 from the 115th AS, Channel Islands ANGB, California ANG is deploying a drogue parachute in prepartion for releasing a type 5 pallet (heavy) on Sunday April 30. 2006 at Edwards AFB, California. The California Guard aircraft was part of a four ship mission as part of the certification procees for the J to drop this type of pallet. Other units from Little Rock AFB, Arkasas and Keesler AFB, Mississippi participated in the exercise. This was the first time the "J" dropped this type of pallet. [USAF photo]
