This is supposedly the picture of the new WS-19 intended for the J-31/J-35 Stealth Fighter.
It said to make in the 24,000 - 25,000 lbs plus range. I believe it will also have TVC?

Hopefully they got the honey pot ones, full of subtle technical errors and omissions.

If, the Chinese could even match the general performance of the F100/F110 series would be impressive enough. Yet, that would be a tall order.......
Yet, won't be long before they surpass Russia though.....

I'd put the J-20 ahead of the Su-57.

I think this is working out as we all thought. Always made more sense for them to make J-35 the future naval aircraft. I don't think this go into mass production until WS-19 is ready for it. I'd that would be at least 5 years away.

I doubt the PLAN will wait that long. As they need to get the J-35's to sea as soon as possible. Plus, money isn't a major issue. So, my "guess" is the first batch or two will be equipped with the WS-13E. Which, is adequate for now....

The J-31/FC-31/J-35 was recently redesigned......and a major one at that!

While, the primary focus today is on the Naval J-35. I for one expect to see a land-based version for the PLAAF in the not too distant future.....

It wouldn't use old engines, domestic WS-19 is expected to be +100kN engine, and they have backup option Russian RD-93MA which is +90kN engine.
For comparsion F-14A use TF30 which was only 93kN engine, so J-35 with RD-93MA would have similar thurst as F-14A but would be lighter. With decent catapult there isn't any problem for J-35 to be used from carrier.
