We just had a blue jet go down. Pilot got out and is fine. No word on cause yet, will know more when i go into work tonight. This doesnt happen very often in our jet community. We'll see what happened.

Well that will make the local mayors happy - one less American jet making niose and interrupting the quiet slow decomposition of the island.....

They good news being that the pilot is ok. That is the only thing I worry about when I here that a jet goes down. Remember the jet will be replaced the pilot can't be.
If it turns, burns, banks, or rolls a Crew Chief made it happen.
I flew 30,000 miles to smoke a camel.

Yeah we are down sizing anyway. As long as it wasn't a newer E or something, no big deal. The important part of the airplane is safe. :)

well nothing but rumors so far as to what happened in the air but I do know the pilot was forced to do the backstroke for a couple of hours before the chopper showed up due to a lifesupport malfunction. Wouldnt want to be him in that situation.

Are you allowed to even tell us what happened until a certain time? A wing didnt fall off this time did it?

probalbly shouldnt say anything but i have no actual knowledge of the investigation, just what everyone else here is hearing on the line. So nothing factual yet besides the life support deal. Never heard of a 15 losing a wing?

report came out a few days ago. Right motor shelled out severing his right aileron and right stab control resulting in an uncontroable left wing heavy condition. At no time was Lt. so and so at any way responsible for the loss of his jet and will be returned to flight status immideatley. And if he needs a RIO when he gets back to the ship i told him i'd fly with him, just give me a call :)
