First two C-130H arrived at Pingtung South on September 22, 1986 replace the C-119 Flying Boxcar. At the time the unit was known as the 101st Airlift Fleet. Completed conversion by July 1, 1987. Re-designated the 101st Airlift Squadron on June 1st 1995.

Flies a sole C-130H #1351 (American serial #90-0176 / c/n 5215 ) and was established on June 1, 1995. Originally the aircraft was operated under the 101st Airlift Fleet (now the Airlift Squadron) for the perpose of being an airborne jamming platform. Stood up operationally on November 22, 1995. Flew along side four E-2T's untill the E-2's when they joined the reactivated 2nd AEW Squadron on January 1, 2000.
