Became operational with the C-130 at Howard AFB, Panama for Pacer Coin on December 1, 1984. Pacer Coin was an all-weather reconnaissance and surveillance system that could be operated day and night. Pacer Coin was used to support special operations forces but for the 310th was a U.S. counter-drug mission. Note worthy was that C-130H #67-7183 was attacked by a Peruvian aircraft while on an authorized anti-drug flight on April 24, 1994. Re-designated the 310th Airlift Squadron on June 1, 1992. Ceased C-130 operations in 1996.

Errors and Omissions
Wrong aircraft trail number
Aircraft involved was 7184 not 7183. I should know, I launched that plane as a crew chief that fateful morning.
