Support squadron for the Brazilian Army and based at Afonsos AB, in Rio de Janeiro. Received the first C-130H in 1974 converting from the C-119G. With the addition of the C-130 allowed for the squadron to take on the search and rescue squadron. In 90s the KC-130 was introduced which allowed for aerial refueling missions. In 2013 the three squadrons of Brazil pooled the C-130t at Galeao Air Base, Rio de Janeiro and the squadrons remained in place for the crew.
