Operated out of Naha AB, Okinawa from January 8, 1963 to March 31, 1971. Originally named the 35th Troop Carrier Squadron it took over the 345th Troop Carrier Squadron. Redesignated the 35th Tactical Airlift Squadron on August 1st, 1967. In 1972 the squadron dropped the C-130 and airlift roll, disbanded and then the next year received the T-37 and re-designated the 35th Flying Training Squadron.
