Initially re-activated at Forbes AFB, Kansas with the C-130B on October 1, 1964 as the 29th Troop Carrier Squadron. Moved to Clark AB, Philippines in very early 1966. Re-designated as 29th Tactical Airlift Squadron on August 1,1967. Moved back to CONUS and called Langley AFB, Virginia home in April 1971 for a short period before being inactivated on November 15, 1971. (Note: not to be confused with the 29th MAS)
