Established in 1968 at Patuxent River, Maryland. Served as communications platforms as command connections to US Navy ballistic missile submarines. Converted to the E-6A Hermes (Mercury) in January 1991 and phased out the EC-130Q by June. Also made the moved to Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.
