Over the years this unit has used a few C-130s for the purpose of testing. During 1963, USMC KC-130F #149798, loaned to the Naval Air Test Center, made 29 touch-and-go landings, 21 full-stop landings and 21 unassisted take-offs on USS Forrestal (CV-59).
