Air Mobility Command released the results of its accident investigation board regarding a December 1, 2014, mid-air collision near Pope Army Airfield between a C-130H and an C-27J.

Mid-air collision with a C-27J from United States Army Special Operations Command Flight Company. Collision approximately 8 miles south of Mackall AAF, North Carolina. Both aircraft declared emergencies and landed safely, the C-27 to Mackall AAF and the C-130 to Pope AAF. The C-130 sustained damage to the leading edge of the right wing and number 4 engine.
