Perhaps this is the explanation -- however, the problem with this is that, the US Navy has recenly confirmed that they failed to identify these objects.... seems a bit odd that the USN, that has access to all the information, from various sensors, still fail to identify these objects, especially after some random dudes on the net have figured it out and also published their explanation for everybody (including the USN) to read. If this really is the case, well then I am very disappointed by the USN and their capabilities (or rather, lack thereof). Keep in mind this was not just one single incidence, but a large number of incidents, over several years. To be honest, I find it hard to believe that the USN are so incompetent (I may be wrong of course).
The few explanations I can think of (the most likely listed first, the least likely listed last):
1. Disinformation campaign
2. Classified aviation tech from the US (or China)
3. Aliens (yes, really)
