Britain phasing out all C-130's under new plan

"But it will also see cuts. As many as 10,000 troops are expected to be lost and senior members of the armed forces face future pay cuts. The last remaining C-130J Hercules aircraft are also expected to be axed in plans to be unveiled by the MoD on Monday.

The aircraft (affectionately known as the ‘Fat Albert’) has been a highly versatile workhorse of the military as its propeller engines allowed it to operate from rough surfaces like deserts or beaches.

The Hercules roles will be taken on by the recently-introduced A400M aircraft, although the fleet has suffered serviceability issues and has yet to earn soldiers’ trust."

It is very surprising that England, who always used Hercules, from the first day, plans to buy Airbus planes after leaving Europe.... British people will always be amazing! HG

I can't see the A400 being as effective as the Hercules in SOF support.
I wonder if they just plan on using US aircraft?

The UK joined the A400M program when it began, over a decade before the Brexit vote happened.

Eeehhh gag, A400 has been a piece of crap. Weird they would do away with c130s when they complain of the Airbus. Meanwhile Australians are getting rid of their Tiger helicopter ... Will the Brits adopt the Tiger and ditch the Apache then? Oof.
