https://silodrome.com/douglas-a-4-skyhawk/

I just noticed this in my news feed.
It's sad that such a prolific cold war bird is noting being sold for chump change. It would be cool if an aviation blog did a go fund me to buy a sky hawk. And charge for rides

OMG where did this airframe come from????

The A-4 Skyhawk you see here is a privately owned example with just 1,739 hours on the airframe since new (TTSN), its Wright J65-W-16A engine has 251 hours since it’s last major overhaul (SMOH).

I cannot imagine an A-4 with so few hours of flight. Wonder if this is a test/prototype airframe?? Or did is get mothballed for J52 powered airframes?

Having the Bureau Number will help to determine the history of this aircraft.

Isn't the J65 the Sapphire? Seems an odd choice for a Skyhawk.
