First explosion took out the bridge. The following was/were on the land. So RUS used explosives to dig holes in the ground? You think that is important?

The 59th brigade in Kherson city. Comparing this to what happened in Mariupol, it is obvious how stupid and evil RUS is. And why it is so much hated.

The familiar reporter, Nastya, in Kherson: a few blocks away from the celebration on the square, this place looks like a ghost town. No light. No gas. No communication. No people.

Eight months of occupation had taken a toll on the city. Comparing to the protests in March, the welcoming crowd was much reduced in number. The life was very hard. A lot of people had left.

More wrecks at Chornobayivka airport. Mostly trucks. And those twin helicopters. The interesting one probably was a Buk radar system. And extensive earthworks.

The second best military has the biggest missiles, but its soldiers are living in squalor. Who predicted this in Feb?

A defensive position based on the irrigation ditch in Kherson region. Taking it wasn't easy. The only passible point for vehicles was the 'bridge' on the road. A forward trench and a strong point in the back. UKR infantry squad on BMP successfully stormed this position, because most RUS were out in the open and not shooting. A very close and dangerous fight.

Mercenaries in Ukraine use crisis as safari to hunt Russians — ambassador to US

It is no coincidence - and no one in the West makes a secret of this - a large number of mercenaries and felons of all sorts have gathered in Ukraine. In fact, they are using the current situation as a kind of safari, hunting for Russian lives

https://tass.com/politics/1535165

RUS admit they are beasts to be hunted down. :lmao:

The rumor was true:

Zelenskyy visits liberated Kherson

The Ukrainian president has appeared in the city of Kherson just days after Russia's withdrawal.

Speaking to Ukrainian troops, he said: "We are moving forward. We are ready for peace, peace for all our country."

Reporter: you could make a video in your office, why do you come here to the conflict zone?
Zelenskyy: I want to eat the watermelon of Kherson.

In WW2, the 3rd Amored Division easily crossed the dragon teeth of the Westwall. Because some local farmer thought those things were impeding the movement of live stocks, they buried a point on the line with dirt. Of course such a thing would be discovered.

Dragon teeth are just obstacles, still need soldiers to man the trenches and bunkers, and artillery to provide cover.

Exactly. These things are useless if not observed and defended and they don't seem to be. Of course these "dragon teeth" are more like baby-dragon mil teeth or something like that. Even in WW2 they mostly used much heavier and robust obstacles and as you said, they were easily crossed unless seriously defended. These Russian "fortifications" are mostly useless in their current form. Maybe they thought they'd buy some time to make better defences elsewhere, but I doubt that.

Have not seen Putin anywhere near the conflict zone either, not much of a tough guy.

Oh no. Five very unfortunate soldiers had a date with Excalibur, which was intended for a tank hiding in the woods. But was slightly short. Marked the tracks and main gun.

12 units of M113 (10 units of 120 mm self-propelled mortars and 2 units of fire control tanks) and ammunition. Lithuania fulfills its obligations and now 62 M113 of different purposes have been sent to Ukraine.

120mm mortar on M113 should be very useful.

Zelenskyy's 10-point plan for peace are:

Radiation safety and nuclear weapons;
Food safety
Energy security
Release of prisoners and internees
Implementation of the UN Charter
Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities
Justice
Ecocide and environmental protection
Escalation prevention
Confirmation of the end of the war

Lavrov:

Ukraine was refusing to talk to Moscow and had put forward unrealistic conditions for peace.

I've been wondering about those Brimstone systems as they have been pretty much absent from all the news and videos. There are now claims that they have been used to destroy Russian S-300VM systems, but I doubt that unless Russians have been really stupid due to limited range of the missile. But it would be really interesting to hear how they have performed in Ukraine.

Putin has issued decrees handing the status of "City of Military Glory" to two occupied Ukrainian cities.

These are Melitopol and Mariupol.

The decrees say this status honours "the courage, steadfastness and mass heroism displayed by the defenders of the cities in the fight for the freedom and independence of the fatherland".

What? Who are the defenders? Who are the aggressors?

+

UKR air force claimed to have shot down 73 cruise missiles and 10 Shaheds today.

RUS reduced the intensity of air attacks recently. That was not 'a gesture of goodwill', or a sign of back to the negotiation. They just accumulated a large number and unleashed in one go.

Poland has been very allergic to Russian military actions since their membership to NATO. Poland has been the most vocal against Russian activity.

Biden: Missile 'unlikely' to have been fired from Russia
There is preliminary information that contests that,
It is unlikely in the lines of the trajectory that it was fired from Russia, but we’ll see.

It is a testing time for the West.
