Holy smokes! The T-90M goes up in flames just as easily as the T-72/T-80, or so it seems. Do the Russians not have a tank that can take some hits? Because it's not just Javelin that's decimating them, it's a variety of anti-tank systems. If I were Russia, I'd go back to the drawing board and come up with a clean sheet design.

Yes, I know the T-14 is supposedly that tank. But with 3 planned to participate in yesterday's May Day parade (only 2 did) and no other signs of progress, it's not looking feasible. If they're dumb enough to deploy them to Ukraine, they'll no doubt suffer the same fate. And really, who's going to buy Russian tanks going forward?

You're going to pay (and lose) millions plus the lives of the crew, likely to Javelin anti-tank missiles costing less than $200,000.

At some point Russia needs to just cut the chord on that line-up of tanks. There is a pattern here, and it ends up with dead Russians or their allies. If you know your tactics suck, or you just can't get things right, you go back and go with the hands you are dealt. So they fix their t14 issues- which I'm not going to be buying any stock there until it's proven out like the supposedly invincible line of older tanks- or they come up with an armored beast that is covered all over and yes, has a real, not imagined APS to help them. Otherwise they might as well shelve their armored units with the way they are going and stick to defensive partisan battles and yes, give up on European domination.

Their attack choppers at least seem competent, though the avionics don't look exactly on the same level of an AH-64E.

Worse though all though, you'd have to be a damn fool to ride in their IFV's, which seem to need a new designation of TPOT (Tissue Paper On Tracks).

Another crazy video about Russian T-72B (supposedly) getting rid of turret in front of Chinese TV (at about 2:25 into the video):

No information what did the damage but that's just insane...

100 Javelins can not hit 1 tank. Ukraine admits it is completely useless.

The reason: Ukraine received 5000 Javelin missiles, 90 times as the number of Russian tanks. Based on 90% success rate, there should be 4500 Russian tanks destroyed. Actually there are much much less than that. Therefore 100 Javelins can not hit 1 tank. QED.

They even found a picture of a dog pissing on an empty Javelin round.

Hey, don't forget to point out that Chinese drone is far superior to TB2.

The Chinese propaganda is at its very low point right now.

No, that Russian tank wasn't hit by the enemy! That's actually part of the Russian Space Program to send tanks to space

Some information about the video:

It was published by iFeng, a CCP propaganda outlet based in Hong Kong. The reporter said he was driving near Mariupol at a speed of 150 MPH, when a T-72B3 exploded in front of his Nissan. He blamed this on the partisan activities, putting the green corridor of UN evacuation in risk. He said that area was threated by loitering munition and Tochka-U, and the very tank was guarding his car.

Edit1: more about this guy

This so-called war journalist has been reporting in Russia since the Chechen War. He has been following the Russians and separatist since day 1. Reporting from Kharkiv outskirts, he interviewed a civilian: now the Russians have come, you must be happy? Your life must be better?

His latest report from Azovstal: look what I have found in the bunker? This is the small gun only used by NATO officers!

That's exactly what I thought, after seeing the loft that turrent got!

The only positive in that is the crew died instantly, they didn't burn/suffer. Unlike some of the gruesome helicopter shootdown video's I've seen. I know they're killing civilians, but I privately wonder how many soldiers are doing so under threat of court martial, or whatever the Russian equivalent is (one way ticket to Siberia)?

Yeah that Phoenix TV "Journalist" footage is geolocated to somewhere 70km behind frontline in what's separatist controlled territory before the invasion. Guess the pink on the map showing Russian "control" don't really tell all that much about actual actions, as there's no explanation other than some guys with their Javelin doing their thing. He said himself the route is a known kill zone of Ukrainian ambushes to be passed as quickly as possible, so it's far from a one off.

Though I doubt the account it's some scattered remnants of original Mariupol defender he's implying. It's likely the work of some special reconnaissance guys somehow infiltrating 70kms from outside, maybe with help of local irregular. I don't know if it's something you could generalize as their overall rear area security situation, if so it's not looking good for the Russians, the high tech insurgency is probably real.

This is cute. Further proof that dogs are indeed man's best friend...

https://www.dailywire.com/news/jack-rus ... in-ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented a Jack Russell terrier mix named Patron with a state award “For Dedicated Service,” recognizing the dog for his part in detecting over 150 explosives since the beginning of the war with Russia.

Patron arrived at the ceremony that took place at Kyiv’s presidential palace on Sunday, and was immediately escorted past the line and into the building.

The Russians Lost Nearly An Entire Battalion Trying To Cross A River In Eastern Ukraine

The 17th’s shelling destroyed at least seven T-72 and T-80 tanks, 17 BMPs, seven MT-LB armored tractors, five other vehicles and much of the bridging unit itself, including a tugboat and the pontoon span.

It’s unclear how many Russians died or were wounded, but it’s worth noting that no battalion can lose three-quarters of its vehicles and remain capable of operations. In one strike, the Ukrainians removed from the battlefield one of roughly the 99 Russian battalion tactical groups in Ukraine.

https://cryptowatchdog.coin.dnsalias.co ... yed%20them.

Edit:

A satellite image collected by geospatial intelligence firm BlackSky shows a Russian pontoon bridge crossing the river on May 10 shortly after a Ukrainian artillery barrage hit the surrounding area.

Smoke is seen rising from the western shore of the Siverskyi Donets River at one end of the bridge. On the eastern bank, craters and smoke are also seen on the eastern shore, including around Russian military vehicles that crossed over.

Well it's an unmitigated disaster today for Russia but if the Ukrainians are to recover lost territories they have to do the same many more times. Bodies of water being a fact of life there it doesn't seem realistic they can attack over land only. I'm actually not sure what they can do so it won't end as badly. Do it out of sight, with enough obscuration/at night, as quickly as possible, conduct suppression including against indirect fire and push enough miles out as soon as possible afterward to more or less secure the crossing for follow on? Sounds quite daunting and not competencies they can acquire in a few week or even months.

Or I dunno they have to hold something of value to Russia as hostage to trade back the more defensible terrains.

Edit: Judging by the cluster of wreck around the bank it's not even necessarily the Russians did it slowly and the crossing site doesn't look bad to me. But it's probably known ahead of time they were going to do it, they were seen doing it and then they were dead.
