Yeah,and this was an SU-35 operated by Russia, not some degraded export model. They appear to burn quite well, likely due to their large internal fuel capacity? May or may not be the only SU-35 lost thus far, but the SU-34 is suffering heavy losses, and some SU-30's have been downed too.

Parts are remarkably intact, especially the important ones. I suppose the boys at USAF/CIA etc are having a field day reverse engineering everything. Where does Russian tactical aviation go from here?

If Russia are loosing MBT in the same rate - it will be without operational MBT before November.

Is there a danger of a serious flanking or turning action in the east. Ukraine has retaken Kharkov (spelling) in the east. It seems like the Russian could be out flanked.
