Why not? Especially cheap variant. They have problem with MiG-29 replacement, Su-75 in base variant is ideal choice.

Cost wise it is noticeable cheaper then MiG-35, one engine which is build in nice numbers vs two RD-33MK (quite rare engine), radar is variant of N036 which is in serial production while Zhuk-AE still isn't and even when it is in production it will not have numbers which N036 will have.

This guy "milosh" is awesome ain't it? From a mere mock-up he knows exactly how much this airplane will cost, even including all it's unknown military secrets.

Simply amazing!

I only guess based on price Sukhoi pushing and there are quite strong arguments for that price. We shall see.

Where did I wrote it is world beater? It can't be Russian F-35 especially with targeted price tag and with AL-41 engine.

But it can have quite low price which make it ideal for MiG-29 replacement.

It's highly doubtful that it will be less expensive than a Mig-29 (or Su-35).

If, the Checkmate has any hope of being successful. Then Russia would have to massively fund it and also find a partner or partners.......

The odds aren't good for either let alone both!

Becuase RuAF favored two engine fighters even thought Chinese showed you can have reliable fighter with one Russian engine. In fact J-10 use less advanced Saturn engine and JF-17 use even less advanced Klimov one compared to LTS.

So only when Chinese showed it can be done, RuAF two engine lobby lost arguments. I mean why MiG-35 after all? It wouldn't happen if there was any logic but guys in RuAF wanted two engine medium fighter instead something like J-10.

About funding we need to wait and see. There was already one official which said Russia will fund it but he isn't top official. Now deputy prime minister is pushing for funding and buying Su-75 for RuAF, and he was guy which Su-75 was first showed in this year:
https://tass.ru/armiya-i-opk/12427691

He also mentioned if Russia don't make single engine fighter it fighter exports in future will be in big problems.

Su-57 cost lot more then what most of Flanker users are ready to pay and they still have lot of Flankers which with decent upgrade aren't for underestimation, so there isn't big interest in buying Su-57. On other hand, stealthy fighter noticable cheaper then Su-57 would be quite interesting even for Flanker users.
