C-130H & C-27J mishap near Fort Bragg

While conducting flight training, an in-flight incident occurred in which a U.S. Army C-27J and a U.S. Air Force C-130H from 440th AW made contact in the vicinity of Fort Bragg on December 1, 2014 at approximately 20:30hrs local time.
Both aircraft landed safely with no reported injuries to aircrew or civilians, although each aircraft sustained damage and are now out of service while repairs are assessed said Maj. Lisa Ray, spokeswoman for the 440th Airlift Wing.
The C-27J was conducting standard aviation training, said Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria, spokesman for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
The aircraft had three pilots and two crew members on board during the incident Monday, he said.
An investigation of the incident is currently underway and further details will be available upon its completion.
