Shot down 93 kilometers north of Pebble Island with an AIM-9L Sidewinder and 30mm gun fire from Royal Navy Sea Harrier XZ451. Pilot of the Sea Harrier was Lt. N Ward based on HMS Invincible during the Falklands war. Ultimately it was the 30mm guns that did the damage when it severed one of the wing of the C-130 killing all seven on board. Earlier in the war, on May 29, 1982 a Hercules had dropped a bomb on the British tanker "British Wye." That bomb didn't detonate, but fear of the bombs dropped from an Argentina Hercules was enough to cause this aircraft to become a target.
