Lost during a mission against the Thanh Hoa bridge on the Song Ma River, North Vietnam. The Carolina Moon operation was an attempt to drop a large 8 foot diameter bomb with 5000 pounds of explosives to knock out the bridge. Exact reason of loss is truly not known, but all eight crew were killed in action.

Crash landed and burned after being hit by hit by ground fire on take-off from Song Ba, South Vietnam. Five crew and the five passengers all escaped.
Feb 1985 [ act] 64-526 64- 0526 USAF 314 TAW C-130E Details
Crashed at Cape Romanzof, Alaksa, some time in early 1985 (January or February). Crew was from the 317th TAW (some reports say a crew from SOS out of Florida). Some repairs made on site to get the aircraft flying again. Was sent for depot level maintenance and then the 115th AS as replacement for 61-2373 that was crashed in Kentucky.
08 Sep 1978 [ w/o] 64-532 64- 0532 USAF 314 TAW C-130E Details
Flew into a mountain in Arkansas after clipping some trees on a rig. The aircraft descended to low to avoid a collision with another Herc. Crew was from he 62nd TAS with Capt. Edwin Hayashi being the pilot.
02 Oct 1970 [ w/o] 64-536 64- 0536 USAF 776 TAS C-130E Details
On this day, the aircraft took off twice on training missions and returned with engine trouble. After the two training flights the status was changed to transport 38 personnel from Taipei, Taiwan. Off course, crashed into mountain. This incident occurred in dense fog which possibly led to a navigation error. It took nearly 8 days to locate the crash site, 43 passengers and crew were lost.
