Hit by insurgent fire which caused a fire and explosion in the right wing fuel tank during take-off from Baghdad AP, Iraq killing all 10 on board.

Damaged in a landing mishap at RAF Thorney Island: The co-pilot was landing the aircraft during asymmetric landing training (Engine shutdown) and the a/c got away from him before the Flying Instructor could react. The port wing and number four prop struck the runway. Parts of the blade penetrated the fuselage narrowly missing the loadmaster. Pictures show starboard wing damaged by fire. Aircraft was dismantled and transported away for repairs.

Stalled right after a cargo drop and crashed at Glen Tilt, Scotland. The crew of eight air force and one Army personel were killed.

Overshot the runway at RAF Colerne during landing training and simulated of an engine failure. When the second engine on that side of the aircraft failed, the aircraft was at only 400 feet and pulled to that side and went into the ground. All six onboard died.

Crashed on take-off when the load shifted. Also reported that it hit something during take-off. Was departing Kukes airstrip, Albania.

Wheels up landing during a training exercise at RAF Brize Norton. Unconfirmed if could not get gear down or if the crew forgot to lower the gear. Crew of four were fine.

Wrecked during a hard landing on rough airstrip at night in Afghanistan. Entire crew was ok. It was shortly after destroyed by British forces as the aircraft had important equipment that was not to fall into enemy hands.

Wrecked at a dirt landing strip after hitting land mine on roll-out near Lashkar Gar, Afghanistan. The exploding landmine holed the port external fuel tank and set the number two (port inner) engine on fire. A crew of nine and 26 passengers (including SAS troops) escaped safely. Later the government revealed a large amount of cash was onboard that was to be reward money for warlords in Afghanistan to be used to gain help and intelligence.

In-flight collision with Westland Sea King HAS5, XZ919 of 826 NAS North off the Falkland Islands, at around 300 ft. Four crew of helicopter killed. The Hercules lost 12ft of it's port wing but landed safely at Mount Pleasant.

Kingsfield Cyprus c. 1972. The crew got off, leaving No.3 engine running and the Loadie on the brakes. Brake pressure bled away and the aircraft taxied into the gliding club’s hangar.
09 Nov 1971 [ w/o] XV216 66- 8566 RAF 24 sqn C-130K C.1 Details
Part of Exercise Coldstream, Callsign 'Chalk 4'. The aircraft crashed near the Meloria rocks, four miles west of Livorno with no survivors (5 aircrew, 1 British parachute jumping instructor & 46 Italian paratroopers inside).
