Struck by lightning during a trip from Kinshasa to Kikwit, Congo. Belgian Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht was on board at the time.

While getting an overhaul inspection it was destroyed in a hanger fire at Sabena Technics, Zaventem International Airport. Also destroyed was three civilian Airbus A320s.
24 Aug 1993 [ act] CH-04 71- 1800 BAF 20 sqn C-130H Details
Suffered Category 3 damage to the horizontal tail and elevator when wreckage from a Russian MiG-29 crashed after a collision with another MiG-29 at the RIAT, Britain. No one was killed in this mishap and the photos of the crash are well known. Repaired quickly at Sabena Technics and flew again the next month.

Damaged by ground fire when three bullets struck the aircraft during Operation Silver Back in Rwanda.
15 Jul 1996 [ w/o] CH-06 71- 1802 BAF 20 sqn C-130H Details
Crashed onto the runway after multiple bird strikes at Eindhoven AB, The Netherlands. Impact by birds knocked out three of the engines. 38 people on board of which 34 were part of the Dutch Army Fanfare Band. Nine burned surviors were rescued but two died later.

Damaged on the ground in Kenya when a cooling-cart came loose from its tractor at Nairobi Airport, Kenya and rolled into the side of the aircraft. Occurred during Operation Silver Back.
23 Nov 1992 [ act] CH-08 71- 1804 BAF 20 sqn C-130H Details
Nose landing gear was damaged after a hard landing at Mogadishu-West, Somalia. It had a temporary repair done the next day and flew to Mombasa, Kenya where more repairs were carried out.
