This aircraft was the first AC-130E to be modified to the AC-130H configuration. It participated in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia Operations. It was one of four AC-130s to support the Iran Hostage Rescue mission in April of 1980 and was the lead AC-130 during operation Urgent Fury in Grenada. It participated in Operation Desert Storm and the Battle of Khafji, call sign Spirit 02. This aircraft was instrumental during combat operations in Afghanistan until it retired.
