As I understand it, the faster and higher launch platform is the higher speed thus longer range for the AAM. Does that give a Raptor give an advantage on range with its AMRAAMs given its super cruise and higher operating altitude?

What kind of gains could an AIM-120 or AIM-54 gain from being launched from 100k ft and ~1800knt speed?

If there is that much of an advantage, could the Phoenix survive its climb to extreme altitude then mach 8 dive to its target?

Pick up a copy of minizap missile simulator. Its free and readily shows how speed and altitude affect range.
