Herky Bird Cartoons

Does anyone know how I can get copies of the "Herky Bird" Cartoons that Dave Davenport drew for Pope AFB in the 1970's-1980's and were often in the TAC Attack magazines or the MAC Safety magazines? I've tried browsing for Dave Davenport and all I come up with is a Gay Artist of the same name who has nothing to do with this man.

There's an old address for Dave in Spring Lake, N.C. but it is pretty old.

Looks like back in 2013, they already ran into the same issue with the gay artist :mrgreen:

but still no news... Now I'm curious about how these cartoons looked like. I really enjoy these short comics/drawings coming from the guys doodling the kit they're operating every day, I remember finding one day a whole lot of drawings from a Soviet Tu-22M mechanic which was a fascinating insight into the guy's everyday life... and into the "life" of the planes themselves.

The airplanes had a kind of "face" with eyes and nose, and mouth. I remember one cartoon that showed the airplane at the end of a short strip (Assault Landing). The fuselage was all bunched up and the facial features were all scrunched up with bulging eyes. There was another cartoon with a Herk in flight airdropping multiple CDS bundles and the caption read something about taking laxatives before flight.

Most of the cartoons I remember, each highlighted a safety issue, like birdstrikes, or running into objects on the ground, or ice on the wings, etc.

In a separate, but related issue. When I was stationed in UK, (European Theater) the Stars and Stripes magazine had a cartoon called, "Lt Kadish" about a young Army Lt. and various mis-adventures. Several of those involved catching hops around the Theater on C-130's and the problems he had on those flights.
