HC-130P , AF 64-14852 ,LAC 4036 was originally manufactured as an HC-130H ,in fact the first HC-130H ,in Nov 1964. It was the first production USAF airplane equipped with T-56A-15 engines .The original configuration was Fulton Recovery System and Tracker radome on top of the fuselage , no Refueling equipment. I flew it in that configuration at Marietta GA as an engineering flight test article. The HC -130 P was the same configuration except with IFR equipment installed , that was LAC 4143, AF65-0988 I made the first flight in that configuration at Marietta ,GA. The HC-130H models were retrofitted to the HC-130P configuration ,Fulton recovery system , Tracker radome and now IFR Pods and were designated as HC-130P. I flew LAC 4036 at Lake City ,FL as an HC-130 P model ,FCF ,following PDM. The first CH-130N was built in March 1970 , Configuration ,no Fulton , no tracker but had IFR pods I flew the first flight on that one too at Marietta GA. ,Production flight. somewhere along the way the HC-130P's were de-moded to the HC-130N configuration. LAC 4036 has had a-great history and I am proud to be part of that history.

I flew AF 65-0989 ,LAC 4150 both at Marietta, GA ,Production test and at Lake City , FL ,FCF. I somehow missed AF 64-14862 at both places. I did fly HC-130H ,LAC 4082,AF 64-14859 numerous times for Avionics tests and for Fulton System development , including the first 6 live pick-ups , 3 at Edwards AFB CA and 3 at Pt. Magu NAS ,Ca ( over water at night ).
