While I was double checking for 1288/SU-BAU, I noticed there was something off with the paint scheme on the tail of this C-130H 1288:
Did he get a rudder off an another Egyptian C-130?
Here's an older picture of the same Herc: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Egypt--- ... c6536718cc

Nice work finding that photo. Yeah, would be from another aircraft. Over on F-16.net we see that a lot with canopies.

Leaves the question open as to which aircraft has been cannibalized. We could start comparing paint schemes again.

Probably from another plane or a seperate flight control rework Depot. During PDM the flight controls are painted seperately , this is due to the re-balance requirement . When the planes are painted the flight controls are installed and the color break lines are derived from the controls to prevent such mismatch . The color break lines are defined on LAC drawings for that specific series airplanes. the color break lines are not hard & fast ,just guides ( per the T.O. ) That is why the controls are used as a point of reference.
