According to the above article the USAF took 21 surplus US Army UH-60Ls and converted them to HH-60G Pavehawks.

I'm not sure I would find the situation "Hilarious" especially since the article left out the detail that the USAF is paying the Army's bill for brand new Mike models so they can get the Army's second hand Lima's.
This whole thing should have been solved decades ago, even before the CSAR-X debacle, but here we are. I think the most frustrating thing is that the USAF will be missing the boat on FVL for quite some time. A 250 kt SB>1 Defiant would no doubt be a game changer for CSAR...
