And with the discussion about 1 versus 2 engines: better grab the whole statistics table before basing any conclusions on this single mishap.

There is no ejection seat anymore. Might seem like minimal weight, but a few hundred pounds missing that far forward of CG will do that.
Being 'tipback' resistant / safe within certain limits is an issue for carrier aircraft, decks roll & rock a lot.
