Woe to the pilot/aircraft that under-estimate these aircraft. AESA radars, coupled with Derby/Python V missiles and a miniscule radar/visual signature will make for a very long day for enemy aircraft.
In that respect, they're not unlike Taiwan's F-5's. Heavily upgraded, they now carry Sky Sword II hypersonic (Mach 6!) air to air missiles, better radars, data links and have much greater SA. This, to at least give them a fighting chance vs. Chinese J-10B/C's, J-11's, J-16's, SU-35's and J-20's.
