The strategic strike of Boshehr nuclear reactor
This strike was in fact a series of 3 strikes conducted over 2 days Nov 17-18 1987.

Formations were from squadrons 79-81-91

Strike Force
Wave 1 total 20 from Jalibah AB Basra AB
8 strike Mirages + 2 spares
Loads : 1 2000 lb bomb + 1 EFT 2200 liters + ECM pod + chaff and flare dispensers + 2 Magic 550 AA missiles + 250 gun bullets
10 tankers
2 EFT 1100 liters + 250 gun bullets + 2 Magic 550 AA missiles + ECM pod + Flare or chaff dispenser

Loads : 1 AG LGM AS-30 , laser pod + ECM pod + Chaff and flare dispenser + 2 Magic 550 AA missiles and 250 gun bullets

The Mission
Wave 1 took off and while en route No.8 suffered a malfunction and had to return and was replaced by one of the spares.
Again the formation flew and refueled on low altitude ..... 8 nm from target visual contact established and No.5,6,7,8 aircrafts took a right turn to disperse the Air defenses which was heavy .... The first 4 aircrafts hit the northern reactor cooling tower while the last 4 hit the southern and they egressed ..... Hours later the second wave hit the target again with 2 laser guided missiles ..... The next day 4 mirages repeated the strike ( No.4 had to returned due to malfunction and was replaced by spare one ).
MiG-23s and MiG-25s provided air cover on way back and during refueling .... And the MiG-25R made a recon flight to see the destruction ... The strike was repeated the next year on Jul. 19 1988 this time with 4 Mirages

During the July 19 1988 raid, at least on Mirage F.EQ downed by F-14 of Iranian Air Force ... Pilot from squadron 91 was KIA ( Capt. Mahmood Hameed Alani ) Mirage No. 4504
