Fikret Ozer, Turkish ambassador to Qatar has just confirmed that Turkey will also station fighter squadrons in Qatar as per the agreement signed in 2014. Qatar has also agreed to pay for the Turkish infrastructure and fleet expansion.
What geopolitical implications would this have if any considering that Al Udeid Air Base is nearby also and Turkey's relationship with the US is in decline?

Another thread which is mostly political and almost none technical...
mtrman, the topic is about "Air Power". New airbases and by extension fleet expansion augment ones air power. A new base is also relevant to the Turkish Air Forces Order of Battle and Chain of Command.

Turkey's relationship with the US is in decline?
You alwaya want to go there... sometimes i really would love to see your wishes come true just to see how long could you resist before weaving the white flag.
Btw hope turks can teach 1 or 2 things to Qatar AF so they start to use some sense when it comes to buy aircradts

Turkey is already doing that
In addition to operating a military base in the country, Turkey also opened its largest defense investment in Qatar last month – a helicopter simulation center that will help the Gulf country train pilots.
At least 1,000 pilots will be trained annually at the center that was built by Turkish defense contractor HAVELSAN at al-Udaid. Turkey has already provided training for 55 Qatari military helicopter pilots in the past.
The project was signed on May 10, 2013, to meet the needs of AW 139 helicopter pilots and operators in the Qatari air force. The project moved to Qatar at the end of 2016. So far, 55 Qatari air force pilots have received extensive training and 40 engineers have served over the past three years in the $39 million project.

All of yours do. It's so disgustingly obvious, and you are not foiling anyone.
I thank the airforcesfreak for destroying this board. Way to go captain obvious!

You can't expect him to have any kind of judgement or critical thoughts of his own. That's absurd
