MALD-J for air-air

How capable is MALD-J for air air? Since it can drive close to a target, can it be much more effective than a defensive jammer? For example one of the problems with missile datalink being hard to jam is that the missile datalink antenna is facing away from jamming signals. The MALD-J be fired at a incoming missile, pass it and jam the receiving antenna defeating its datalink, causing the missile to fall short.
