Japan on Friday postponed the rollout of a long-range military cargo jet for two years because of defects, potentially complicating Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s push for a more robust defense.

With Japanese attitudes toward military exports softening, I had been following this program along with the Kawasaki P-1 as both aircraft seem likely to be among the early candidates for international marketing. It would be interesting to see how they'd compete against the A400 and P-8 respectively.
