Perhaps a film about more recent Red Flag events? I can't imagine how good visually that movie would be. (the planes and that flying thing are pretty cool too)
I would purchase that movie in a heartbeat.

Actually, more cuts to the computer model of the combat when the chase plane lost track might have been more instructive. As it is, it looked like the F-15s were just waiting for the F-16 to get on there tails before trying to evade.
Einstein got it backward: one cannot prevent a war without preparing for it.

Yeah, thanks, just realized that.
Perhaps the antagonist should be an enemy so fierce as to cause the Navy and Air Force to join a joint coalition. Then, with the F-35 as the main role and an F-22 as a not-so-secondary role, would my desires for the perfect film be satiated.

The next Top Gun movie will be about ex-gamers flying X-47s from a Conex in the Nevada desert.

Top Gun was about about pilots in peace time. The "enemy" only showed up briefly in the beginning and end to give the intervening drama more punch.
