There isn't finish because it isn't painted nor treated with RAM. It is naked airframe and "fit" is good, panels don't have gaps nor something is protruding which doesn't need to protrude.

Here is hoping this one doesn't crash and burn during its delivery flight like the first one.

Sorry, no it isn't.....
Compare the Chinese J-20...
...and J-31 in primer
Now compare them to the most recent production pics of the Su-57....

Photos aren't detailed enough to have any real estimate but look this J-20 photo:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/494 ... fcae_k.jpg
there is clear protruding panel edge and that is after all work is done.
Su-57 from production line look like using less screws then J-20:

J-31 is league of its own it look like it use most advanced airframe construction in world:

Officials from AVIC claimed that additive manufacturing was extensively used on the aircraft, resulting in 50% reduction in components compared to similar aircraft. However, the resulting airframe cannot be disassembled, and the static test frame had to be transported in whole as a consequence.

J-20 still looks better (quality) than the Su-57 in my opinion. As for the J-31 I would hope they learn something with the development of the J-20 over all of these years...

Dunno if I'd want to be flying the 2nd production SU-57, especially after what happened to the first.
Speaking of which, their biggest (current) problem IMO is.... What really happened? I've seen speculation shortly after the crash, but absolutely NO word on a formal investigation or official finding. First it was the tail section malfunctioned. Then it was a bug in the flight control software. Engine problems were also mentioned. Which is it? Possibly a combination of all 3??
From the outside, it certainly looks like they're rushing things. I'd imagine the last thing you'd want is to deliver a new aircraft to operational units with a fatal flaw(s). Russians are fond of saying how the SU-35 is "good enough" to deal with competing foreign aircraft, including the F-22/35. If that's the case, why not slow down and do this right?
This doesn't make any sense. Then again, most of the program doesn't...

After the first few SDB's hit, "the cloak" is going to die a fast death. Unless... the cloaking devices shield SU-57 from weapon strikes too. Which I suppose given its other groundbreaking tech, shouldn't be all that difficult

There are some HAS in USSR but they were mostly build for maintenance and to protect nuclear weapons. Most planes are in open, even expensive ones MiG-25/31 and Su-27. Not much changed from then.

The Su-57 should have been totally redesigned sometime ago. Now it's to late......
