February 12, 2007 (by Jonathan Somerville) - RAF C-130J-30 (Hercules C.4) ZH876 suffered extensive damage during a landing mishap in the Iraqi province of Maysan.
It was determined within hours that the aircraft was too damaged to repair under the conditions of the location so it became the first C-130J to be written off. Sensitive equipment was removed and the aircraft was destroyed where it came to rest by a group of multi-national forces.
