153rd AW returns from overseas deployment

March 9, 2015 (by 153 AW) - Nearly 100 members of the 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard, are now home with their families following a recent deployment to Southwest Asia. The final plane returned home last week.

Airmen successfully provided combat airlift support, logistics, maintenance and medical support as part of Operations Enduring Freedom and Freedom's Sentinel.

The deployment included the use of four 153rd Airlift Wing C-130H Hercules aircraft and two aircraft from the West Virginia Air National Guard. In total, Wyoming Air Guard crews flew 649 sorties, equaling 1,310 flying hours, while delivering 3,140 personnel and 2,370 tons of cargo to various destinations in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Persian Gulf region, as well as the Horn of Africa.
